I frequently visit an outlet of used goods or hobby shops to find any good Japanese hobby products to sell those overseas.
Rather, this is a part of my job until I establish a syndicate of business. I steadily visit one shop to another and find good products that prospects seem to be interested in.
It’s like a window shopping and just walking around to see products. I’m not quite sure if I can say this is a job with confidence.
You know, the yen depreciation especially against the US dollar has accelerated recently. So, as a Japanese living in Japan, I really feel the possibility of export business and I can take advantage of finding good quality Japanese products easily
But, you know, overseas demand prediction in the market where I am going to enter is way hard because I have never lived in the country where I want to sell a product.
In terms of export business, I am still an amateur. To be honest, I don’t know what product I should invest in.
Moreover, all my budget I can afford to invest in products is quite limited but I want to invest in products that I can anticipate a certain demand in overseas market. I know it’s almost difficult.
Currently, I narrow down a target to Japanese Anime Figures and establish a sales channel to East Asia Region.
I don’t think the reaction on Instagram against posted products pictures corresponds to the market response of the products but the method to measure the reaction of people on Instagram by posting pictures will be a certain indicator to know the product demand so, what I do is go visit a shop and take picture of the products and post these on Instagram.
If I get to know some of products are popular among Instagram users, I buy and display these on Lazada mall, Amazon or eBay to observe market reaction.
This is what I do. Very very childish method but I wasn’t able to come up with other ideas except for this one.
For the time being, I have to focus on researching products and observe market reaction to make sure how much a product can be sold etc…
